The Ronin-M PRO Dovetail System from CineMilled is the key to unlocking new configurations
SONY A7s with Angénieux Rouge Zoom lens!! Balanced using the PRO Dovetail and Counterweight System. NOTE this requires the optional PAN Counterweight Mount. In the image with the GOPRO4 you can see the use of weights on TOP of the Dovetail to add top weight in order to balance small very lightweight cameras like the Panasonic GH4 or the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera etc.
The PRO Dovetail does require a much better understanding of how balance works so you can successfully add weight were you need it and get it balanced in short order. Using the proper technique and counterweight it is possible to perfectly balance a great number of camera/lens configurations!!
Slightly Longer length
The PRO Dovetail for the Ronin-M is only slightly longer. The additional length can help you to mount larger cameras or longer builds.
Counterweight System
As you can see by the “T” shape the rear portion contains a series of 3/8″ threaded holes that allow you to spin-on our threaded weights to counter act heavy lenses/mattebox. By doing this you are also adding bottom counterweight to help counter act top heavy camera builds. This might eliminate the need for arm extensions and a tilt arm extension!
Ronin-M Pan Counterweight Mount
By using the PRO ronin dovetail, you can avoid buying arm extensions, but as you add weight to the gimbal you might run out of PAN balance adjustment. What is needed is our weight mount so you can screw in our counterweights and be able to perfectly balance your ronin. Click here to purchase.
