This is a complete replacement of the part/mechanism that DJI chose to use that has been failing for many R2 owners.
It has happened so much that due to your requests for a solution that prevents another ill timed failure on set in the middle of the day that leaves you looking silly and with no way to secure your gimbal.
We took action and designed a permanent solution – so this can never happen again.
Our design is stronger by attaching with 2 more M4 bolts for a total of 6 M4 bolts (Vs. 4) which for people operating with very high payloads is a very good thing!!
Our sliding locking block will also apply significant more pressure and be strong enough to never fail again!
Yet by using a high quality genuine German KIPP lever provides the same ease of use as the original part.
We have also retained the “safety stop” holes to keep the gimbal from falling off in case the user forgets to close the lever.
In addition we have added some threaded mounting holes on the backside of this mount allowing you to use this system to mount this system as a solid quick release for any number of other “things” that you may want to have a way to quickly slide in/out of.
One use is this now gives you a way to mount other things inside of the R2 carbon ring!!
We have also added some 1/4-20 mounting holes on the side of the unit to allow you to later add a AKS cheese plate to mount things like the master wheels receiver or other things to the side area of the pan motor.
