The CineMilled Upper PRO Dovetail is part of our complete “R2 Counterweight System”. Working with the lower PRO dovetail and the pan weight mount you can use it to tune your balance to suit your specific needs. Absolutely must have part for advanced complex builds.
The Upper PRO Dovetail has a center mounting slot (the factory one does not). This enables you to mount it centrally right over the camera handle instead of having to offset it laterally like you are forced to with the factory version. This provides a stiffer connection in that situation.
The Upper PRO Dovetail has a centrally located front and rear 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 mounting holes that can be used to mount cinetape/rangefinders or in the rear counterweights and accessories. This is a vital need to securely mount these and other professional accessories.
You can also mount our counterweights to the rear of our upper PRO dovetail. Adding counterweight here can counteract front heaviness and add top weight at the same time when the situations calls for this.
Removable “Wings”

Our “wings” (we include 4) are a bit longer than the DJI dovetail and they have both a 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 mounting holes at the ends (which the original one does not) that allows you to mount vital professional accessories or counterweights. In addition our longer upper dovetail features 2 sets of wings….in the front and the back! Most importantly if you don’t have a use for them they can be removed!! Remove all the wings and run just a center section.
Ultimately our Upper PRO dovetail gives you MORE options and more freedom on your complex professional camera/gimbal builds.
